Holes in NE MS

Postby feather-chaser » Thu Jul 10, 2008 8:07 pm

Last winter was my first season duck hunting and I was just wondering if anyone could reccommend some good spots for this season. We went several places, John Bell Williams WMA, Indian Creek, etc and I heard that if you can get into the Tuscumbia WMA draw that its a good hole. Any other reccommendations?

thanks for the info. Didn't expect guys to reveal their "go-to spots", just a few pointers. Didn't hunt the timber at J.B.W. last year, just the Hardin Moore ponds. and around there.

Tuscumbia simply does not support a large population of waterfowl. A hunt without even firing a gun is typical. Now, it can have it's decent days if everything falls in place which is RARE! I live within 10 minutes of the place and I hunt 155 miles Southwest of here. Draw your own conclusion.

Yes you could go with him........and enjoy the beautiful scenery, sit in the boat, drink coffee, talk about who has the best looking DR-85, wonder why the ducks arent flying, because "damn man the weather is perfect," commiserate about the good ole days of East MS, and head back to the boat launch, only to get back to your computer, and type some big long dissertation about how awesome the weather was, how sweet the decoys looked, how much of a man you are for not using anything post 1890, how your wondering why the ducks havent made it here yet. Turn off your computer and still have time to catch your favorite outdoor chanel commercial about sexually explicit decoy positions, only to turn it off because anything new and improved is the "devil." Grab a sandwhich and catch up on some sleep.........................................OR...............................You could come hunt with US, and kill ducks.......................................your choice..........................

Its a spoof off a Toby Keith song.. Original lyrics are "Go West young man haven't you been told California is full of Wild Women, Whisky and Gold"

But can't remember the name of the song.. :?:
