Here are my 2 1/2 RNT Micartas with an Echo Micarta stopper.. I have long been an admirer of the micarta calls. Heres somewhat the cliff notes about these calls. Westinghouse Co. years ago made "micarta" and marketed under that name. They made various colors for the Kitchen bath top business as well as resturant counter top and partition business ( bathroom stalls) ,office tops and etc. Knife makers also loved this product particularly the "ivory" color above.. Since Duck call makers follow the polymer business because it makes a call with great tone and VOLUME. Well they jumped on the Micarta wagon and road it for a while. However the "Ivory" color calls came to a halt around late 70s and early 80's. The paper company that Westinghouse bought from to make the "iVory" color went broke or burnt down..i can't remember but it ended the 'ivory" calls. That paper in the Micarta gave it the ivory growth ring look..Micarta is still around but not in the Ivory color because of paper. There is some linen Micrata around but it doesn't look like the Paper Micarta...Arcylics calls came rocking along ( mid to late 80's)about that time and it has been a definitely louder material for the competition calls.

My smaller Ivory call predates to 1990 and was made for a very famous competiton caller who sold it to me for nothing in 91'.. It was one on the last calls Butch made out of ivory Micarta since by that time it was hard to find any 2" micarta left. The guy on Ebay is wrong about his claim his call is the last but so what :)..

My larger ivory call is what Butch built on the big frame....It will ring like the liberty bell. i would not hestitate to use it in any competition contest of the present however it's not as loud as today's arcylics.

My cocobolo call with ivory stopper is call Butch made for me in 92 after there was no more ivory left except in stopper material..i checkered two of these and gave him one.

Echo call, same deal as Butch...with black micarta barral. and to think D. Barnes said i didn't know sheet!!!

thaks ChampC for not rattin on me!

Here is a photo of the micarta echo and a blue Roy Rhodes> both calls where made some time around 90 or 91. I went to Rick Dunn's house in Jacksonville to get the echo, He was super nice. Spent about five hours with him and he gave me his routine(recorded on micro tape) to practice with. This was prior to him winning the world. The other call I got from Roy the year he won the world. cant remember but I think it was 91. I knew that the echo would be worth the $100 that i gave for it. I took a bunch of ribbin from my buddies for payin "hundred dollars for a duck call". Looks like it was money well spent!!!

If you change your mind, I'd like to have first shot before it goes to ebay.
