Move out West get a job as a ski bum and barely scrape by for a few years. You will have the time of your life and in the mean time figure out what is best for you and your happiness. You will meet a lot of good people. Some of which will be your friends for life and the others will teach you things that will mold your future.

There is a huge world out there, you have to take the initiative to step out of your comfort zone and find your little place in it.

Thanks for all the advice. After talking to family and fellow msduckers over the last several weeks and the comments on this post, I'm starting to realize that being a little lost is not such a bad thing.

As for my brother and mom, we talked things through and I now see their motivation. I haven't really sat down to talk with neither for quite a spell. Heck, my brother started the conversation "Well, I know it ain't duck season and we're not in the blind but we need to talk!" As you can imagine, it's been a while since we had a little life talk. You know talking with him out of duck season was quite weird, but hey it was worth it. I think we both came to the conclusion, we need a vacation LOL!

It’s funny; my granddad is a man I admire with the utmost respect. He’s one of the men in my life that I have turned to for advice, guidance, and knowledge. After calling him up, he counted out 20 different "careers" that he tried before finding his calling. He was only 48 when it hit him what he truly wanted to do .

I made my decision today to decline the offer. I placed the call to the gentleman I interviewed with and with blood rushing through every vein, nervousness, I informed him I wasn't taken the position. Without missing a beat, or slamming the phone down, he elected to talk. To be honest, he's quite a busy man and for him to take time to talk with me surprised me to the point I was in shock. After listening to him, it started to sink in that at one point in his life he didn't have a clue what direction he was headed. After a very uplifting conversation, he extended my opportunity with his company if I ever elected to give it a try. Really made me fill good about myself. The man spent a total of 3 hours with me during the interview/lunch and he some how knew what to say in a form that related to me. Pretty cool guy to say the least.

I appreciate all the advice. Seems as though that life's many challenges presents new goals, new areas, and new opportunities. It also seems that the more you "grow" the more your goals change in life.

Heck, maybe my brother's right, I could turn my 20's into a top selling book LOL.

The sooner you figure out you wasted all those years of college education, cause your never gonna use that stuff anyway, the better.

My suggestion for what its worth echos what a lot on here have said already...

Throw a dart at a world map and go where it lands. Learn something completely new and foreign.
The choices you make now will only help you figure out who you are, and what you are will fall into its place. Hell go back to school if nothing else. What difference will it make when your 70 if you worked for 45 years or 50?

I worked offshore the summer I got out of college. I learned a lot more than I realized then, about jobs and people. Starting to figure it out a little bit now at 32.

Take the guy that interviewed you to lunch and you pay for it. Carry on your conversations with him. After all, he's now part of your "network."
