Boat Registration Problems --- NEED HELP!!!!

Postby Po Monkey Lounger » Fri May 30, 2008 9:50 am

The last Boat Registration card that I received was for the 2006-07 year. I thereafter renewed it over the phone for the 07-08 year, paid with a credit card, received a confirmation number, but never received the plastic card to keep in my boat. Once again this year 08-09, I have renewed over the phone, paid with a credit card, received a confirmation number, but have not yet received the plastic registration card to keep in my boat. This latest renewal was performed early this month. I cannot reach a live human at the MDWF&P by calling this number I was given: 601-432-2055. At this point, I have zero confidence that I will ever again receive a boat registration card for my boat.

For anyone in the know, what am I doing wrong here? Are any others experiencing these types of problems? Who can I talk to to get this corrected asap?

Any help would be appreciated.

Po Monk call 601 432 2400 and ask to speak to someone in boat registration. That number is for the switchboard and there should be a human answerin that number. I hope so anyway

I registered a "new to me" boat a couple months back and they sent me a 2011 sticker.

Something similar happened to me. I found out they mispelled my last name and couldn't find my entry. I explained my problem to the lady, and she called me back later that day and straightened things out for me. I'll say this for the state of Mississippi, they usually have helpful people.

Thanks for all the advice and responses folks. I usually don't post stuff like this, but after trying to get this rectified for two years, with no success, I have simply run out of patience. I better not hear crap from any Mr. Green Jeans for not having my boat registration card on me when out on public water (I will have my confirmation number with me). IF I do, I will be on the doorstep of the MDWF&P office in Jackson when they open the doors the following morning raising hell.

You know they were good for 2 years, now 3, right?

I must be misunderstanding your post, but looks like you are renewing every year.

You don't need no stinkin' boat registration. You're an attorney by God.

Well, the card that I have expired on 4/30/07. I did not receive a new card or the stickers last year. And I still haven't received a new card or the stickers this year. And now, it has been pointed out that I have now paid twice for something I should have only paid once for. Great.

TRW, I tried doing what you recommended -- on the same date you made your post. I still have not heard from anyone from the department. I am now going to try calling the number Bullet posted.

Why is this so f$#$ing hard??

Bigwater, I broke out the big guns --- I just called in and told them that I know Rob. I got immediate attention to my problem and it may now be finally solved --- we shall see.
