vacation to arkansas info
the girlfriend an i were thinking about taking a little vacation and thought about the beach but its too damn expensive. also thought about just a relaxing weekend in a small cabin or something in arkansas on some small, shallow trout fishing river that we wouldn't be bothered. just wake up fish, cook, relax, and see no one, etc. anyone have any hints or suggestions on what might be a good place.

Better not schedule before July at the earliest...All those rivers will be running deep until they get the lakes down (what I've been told).

always torn between the White River in Ark. or the Hiwassee in Tenn. this july will be on the Hiwassee (Reliance) very secluded- good trout fishing--30 min. to town so you would need to buy groceries, Reliance has one country store/outfitter and a second outfitter and a fly shop/store up the mountain--that's it---very secluded----pm me if you want more info

My friends and I went to Lobo for my Bachelor party weekend and it was very nice. Cable tv for at night, and very nice ammenities inside. Everything is basically brand new.

Take your booze with you - can be hard to find in some areas, without having to drive into Little Rock.

thanks for the booz tip. ha. have made that mistake before. the lobo and rileys station struck my attention. checked the website out. are the rivers at either of these places low enough or set up right to wade and do a little fly fishing? because i went to mountain view on the white and loved the trip but the river was huge and and deep and just wasnt what i was expecting. been fly fishing in montana and loved the little shallow, clear river fishing and was wondering if ark had anything similar

Genes Trout Resort. Awesome cabins, CHEAP. Easy GOOD fishing, great views of turkey across the river in the mornings. Norfolk river just 1/2 mile downstream of Norfolk Dam. Also is a very cool trout hatchery below the dam and they have some monster trout.

Lobo is on the little red, which is below Greer's Ferry reservoir. If the generators are running it will be high, if there not it will be low and wadable. With the amount of rain they have experienced i would think there currently running full steam.

I was at the Little Red a couple weeks ago and it was pretty much unwadable. They were running 2 generators and it was fast and high everywhere I went. I assume it will be that way for the next month.

You should also check out some info on the Spring River NE Ark. We used to go there and camp at twin oaks camp ground always lots of fun.
