JUST wait....17 year old girls and 19 yr old Professional Ballplayer Boyfreinds....Ya think parents are bad....wait till hairy legs tries and impress his girlfreind. Parents at ball games are a kids best and worst, when little mary is playing good Your a Outstanding Coach, when little mary is more concerned about her makeup than sliding into second...well Your a BUM cause you jerked her out.

just come on back home

No thanks! We just got my mom out of there. As of Thursday, she is a full time resident of Fulton, MS. Todd is still there, but he can handle himself.

glad she is out of here. Wished and any one kin to me was .

We have a lot of teenage umps here but most of them ar at least 16 or 17. Still no match for an unruly insane parent. :?

I coach 11-12 boys. I have a reputation of WINNING. But my team this year is the worst I have ever seen. I have 10 players.I have 6 that are terrified of the baseball. 2 that will probaly get hurt because they don't pay attention. 4 of the 10 haven't ever stepped foot on a ball field. When your 12 if you don't have a little natural ability you are in trouble. We have played 3 games won the first 11-3 my pitching won that game, second game lost 8-3 should have been 100-3 thanks again pitching, third game lost 4-2 should have been 40-2 thanks again pitching. I have lost more this year already than in the past 3 years. I usally drink 2 beers before the game to calm my nerves but this year I'm going to up that x2x3x5.lol. I have never seen so many kids scared of the ball and you cant coach scared kids. When my son was 7 or 8 he showed fear of the ball,so i duct taped his hands behind him an threw balls at him until my wife had 911 dialed on the phone. NOW NO FEAR..But she told me the other night she was very glad I did that now.
So you guessed it next practice I may go to JAIL.

I had one kid at the game the other night ask me, coach do I run on the first hit or third one. He walked and he isn't blessed with speed. 2 outs the top of my lineup at the plate score 4-2 he is on first all I need is a shot to the fence and God willing i get him home 3-4 and a couple of base hits and steal them around and win the game. So he looks for the sign from me at third and I just give some bull crap sign the ball is pitched and he steals second all on his own and makes it (thanks God).So I tell him 2 times dont run unless the ball is hit,YEP ALL I HEARD FROM THE OTHER TEAM WAS HES GONE I LOOK AND HE IS ON HIS WAY TO THIRD THE THROW WAS THERE BEFORE HE GOT HALF WAY THERE AND THATS OUT 3. Man I sure love this GAME..
A SHOTGUN NEEDS 3 THINGS BOOM,BOOM AND BOOM!

I give it up to all of you that are willing to take on coaching a little league team. I would not do it for any amount of money.

The parents are brutal. Thats why I stand/sit down the right or left field fence. Depending what dug out we are in. I simply cannot stand to listen to the parents. They totally take any fun out of it.

And Gator, your right, some of these teams play all year. Thats something I simply do not understand.

Now you might understand my Milan, Tn rant from last year.

the thing about older kids, say 12-13, those kids usually want to be there. I know some of mine are there cause daddy or mommy signed them up w/o ever talking to them..and the younger the age group, the worse it is.

I actually had a 7 yr old girl refuse to go in last year...I took her by her hand and we walked out of teh dugout to where her mom was sitting and I told her to tell her mother she didn't want to play.
she wouldn't say anything at first cause she was scared, but I wasnt in the mood to listen to her mom after the game because "my kid didn't get ot play"...

why the hell do I do this...I say every year that 'this is my last year'
but some how some way, they always get me back in there...poor-mouthing cause they don't have enuff coaches, bla bla bla.....

it's hard to keep up with all the rules oing from one age to another, one gender to another,...have 2 girls palying and one son....found out last night you HAVE to use a catchers mitt behind the plate....my cathcer preferred his glove...but that won't work.

You do it for the same reason I do.

Yeah, but there's a special place in heaven for those who have that kind of patience with "little people", especially when their parents are screaming idiotically at them and you are the only one who seems to be patient with them - lead by example and encouragement.
I applaud all of you who do coach the "little people", especially when noone else will.
