Bald Eagles
Re: Bald Eagles
Yes I can show you. We will have to go through some private farm land, but duck chur's dad is the manager there. I think we could set up a time and go. I was thinking when I was down there that the state needs to know about this nest if they didn't already.

Re: Bald Eagles
I saw a juvenile eagle at the start of turkey season and we had an adult eagle fly over our deer skinning shed ast year.
Re: Bald Eagles
wingman,
Its getting harder to see the nest because of all the leaves growing. Make sure you bring your gps and a boat would be great to. Where I can show you is across the river from the nest. You can drive to the other side but it is a lot of turnroads coming from Straight Bayou and I can't remember how to get out there to that spot. I have only been one time on that side of the river. PM me if you want to go. It will have to be Saturday (April 19) afternoon.

That must be the nest I was told about between Ditchilow and the Box woods. I went to put my boat in today but didn't get to launch. I was planning on going down that way to see what I could see.
I can get to the river from that side. I don't know what I'll be doing on Saturday, but I'm up for a motor boat ride anytime.

Yeah, its not too far from the Box Woods. The best place to put in your boat to get to the nest would be the ramp in Murphy. Its only about 3 or 4 miles from there on the river. Do you know where Free N*gger Bridge around Murphy is? Its about 500 yards North of there.
If you are up to it, I can show you that nest with 2 adults and then I can show you an area south of Lake Washington back behind the levee where we saw 2 adults and 1 juvenile flying around before the river got up. I haven't seen those three since the river got up, but I haven't been back there in a boat either.

Re: Bald Eagles
went out and stood under a nest in noxubee today. it had three young and saw both parents
Re: Bald Eagles
Anne and i usually see bald eagles in a couple of different areas, every year.
We see eagles and ospreys quite frequently, in Canada......usually hanging around large masses of ducks.

We can count on seeing this pair in the same tree in the photo every year.......it's a good perch from which to drool over the next course, while your previous meal digests.

Re: Bald Eagles
I found the Murphy nest today. 2 eaglets and an adult present, but I couldn't seem to get a good photo of any of them.
If you look closely, you will see a second eaglet on the right side of the nest. You can barely see his beak.

Re: Bald Eagles
I saw a pair saturday at our hunting on the river in Cohoma county. They were sharing a 'carcass" with some buzzards. Wish i had my long lens camera.
I walked up to some baldies in Alaska Prince of Wales island one time after they had engorged themselves on my bear guts from my bow kill the day before. i got about 15 yards from them. Most flew off , a couple didn't or couldn't i guess they were so full of intestinal morsels....I remember the intensity of their eyes...

There is a pair that stay at Lake Caroline. They roosted out in front of my lot until this past storm. There is a steady supply of mallards for them. I saw one of them fishing on Sat. morning.
