Guys-
just getting into this photography thing and wanted to see what kind of case that most of you use. This would be used for to and from the timber and pits as well as a few trips offshore. i have an xti and also wanted some advice on these lenses. just looking for a good lens for deer, turkey, ducks (i know i will be limited) and just for all around shots. thanks in advance.

Re: newbie questions
If you turn you dial to "P" instead of the green box (auto), it will stop the flash from popping up. In P mode, you will have to push the button on the side of your camera to pop up the flash.
I don't have any advice on the lenses, maybe someone else can jump in for that...

Re: newbie questions
I have a nikon but like he said set it to manual and it will not flash...
And as far as the lenses you said you wanted...You will not have much zoom with either of them...The 55-250mm would be the better of the 2 for turkey but I would even go 300mm or better.

I am not very experienced at all, but I have been using a Canon 100-400L f4 and it has served me very well for wildlife and outdoor sports.

Re: newbie questions
ted...you got a 100-400 f4??? man never seen that one
maybe the f4.5-5.6?
I use a Canon 1dmkII, and Canon lenses from 17mm to 400mm in focal length....
I have no experience with either of the lenses you mentioned, but i would try to squeeze out enough money to get the 70-300 IS lens if at all possible.... it is pretty sharp and reasonably long on a 1.6 crop sensor camera to get the job done for medium to large wildlife at reasonable distances (meaning in the kill hole duck hunting)....
