Hooray for A Michigan State Professor!
and Michigan State U.!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The story begins at Michigan State University with a mechanical engineering professor named Indrek Wichman.
Wichman sent an e-mail to the Muslim Student's Association. The e-mail was in response to the students' protest of the Danish cartoons that portrayed the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist. The group had complained the cartoons were "hate speech."
Enter Professor Wichman.
In his e-mail, he said the following:
Dear Moslem Association,
As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intend to protest your protest. I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey), burnings of Christian churches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavian girls and women (called "whores" in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France. This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many of my colleagues. I counsel you dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems
to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile "protests."
If you do not like the values of the West - see the 1st Amendment - you are free to leave.
I hope for God's sake that most of you choose that option. Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.
Cordially,
I. S. Wichman
Professor of Mechanical Engineering
As you can imagine, the Muslim group at the university didn't like this too well. They're demanding that Wichman be reprimanded and the university impose mandatory diversity training for faculty
and mandate a seminar on hate and discrimination for all freshmen.
Now the local chapter of CAIR has jumped into the fray. CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, apparently doesn't believe that the good professor had the right to express his opinion.
For its part, the university is standing its ground in support of Professor Wichman, saying the e-mail was private, and they don't intend to publicly condemn his remarks.
Re: Michigan State Prof.
THANK YOU!!!! I'm glad that someone actually said what the rest of us were thinking. For too long we have had to walk on egg shells, biting our lip as not to offend any body in the minority. If you are so proud of your heritage and your culture, then take your towel wearing, cameling riding ass back to where you came from. This goes for the Democrats, the Mexicans, and Indians, the Pakistanies, end anybody else that might be offended by what I am saying. As for me, I'm a red blooded American, born and raised. I too am proud of my heritage and culture therefore I'm staying put.
If you don't like the way that the American society treats you, then go home. If you don't like our laws, then go home. If you think you are not respected, then go home. I imagine that if I, a Christian, went to your home land I probably wouldn't be welcomed with open arms. And if I complained, I'm sure that some society for white americans would do nothing to help me.
I know that on here I am preaching to the choir, but in the event that someone from the outside is reading this and you are offended, I will gladly give you an address to meet me and we can discuss this face to face. The same way my culture has handles things.
That makes me proud to be a graduate of Michigan State! I just wish there were more profs who felt this way and made it known.
grnheadhuntr, Please tell me you were talking about Indians from India and not American Indians on your post. If you were talking about foreign indians then I agree completely, but American Indians were here way before anybody.
Re: Michigan State Prof.
This came to me from a friend and I think is worth reading/watching:
This video is about five minutes long--the best five minutes you will
spend all day listening to this Arab woman's rebuttal to a Muslim cleric
and her fierce support of Western ideals and freedom, her stinging
criticism of the Koran and the mentality of fundamentalist Muslims that
embrace the sadism and barbarity of Islam.
I found it best to mute my speakers, since she speaks Arabic, it's
easier to read the subtitles.
She is one impressive woman. Here is a powerful and amazing statement
on Al Jazeera television. The woman is Wafa Sultan, an Arab-American
psychologist from Los Angeles. I would suggest watching it ASAP because I
don't know how long the link will be active
Blue, the only problem I have with the American Indians is that they scalp me everytime I go to the casino.
Re: Michigan State Prof.
That is an awesome video. Only problem is most of those idiots just blew it off because it was coming from a woman that didn't have on her head dress, or burka or what ever they call it. You saw how the hosts were reacting. If she had been where they could grab her she would have been beaten to death.
..............this is true, the best way to simply clarify in this situation is to state" Indians... dots not feathers"blue31 wrote:grnheadhuntr, Please tell me you were talking about Indians from India and not American Indians on your post. If it would make everybody happy and create less confusion, I'll refer to them in the future as Dot Heads.
I'm glad somebody had the balls to say something. Now the rest of us gotta stop talking the talk and start walking the walk. It's easy for us to complain on here, or when sittin around drinking beer w/ friends; however it's different to actually walk the walk. (i'm including myself in this). This could be the start of something if we can get the right amount of power behind it.
