Need help locating CHEAP fly rod
We are headed to Arkansas this weekend for a friend of mine's bachelor party and plan to squeeze some fishing in between the drinking trip. Several of the guys have asked me if I plan on bringing more than one fly rod because they would like to try it. I am going to bring mine, but got to looking last night and found out my "back-up" rod was broken. Not too bad but enough so that it can't be used this weekend and not repaired by then. With that being said, doues anybody know where to find a decent fly rod cheap(just bought a house and between it and friends getting married the funds are kinda tight)? Does anybody have they might want to sale? Thought this might get more views here than in the classifieds. Thanks.

I thnk wal-mart sells combo kits??
When it come's to duck calling and duck killing its the indian not the arrow!
Re: Need help locating CHEAP fly rod
I don't know what you call cheap. Bass Pro has good kits for less than $100 (white river I think is the brand). Not great, but it would be a good back up rig. I'd bet they have plain rods for around $50, but can't guarantee you anything.

With all the rain and flooding they've had in North Central Arkansas - you sure they still have trout?
Son, be sure to check the oil. The gas will take care of itself. George Carter - Circa 1965

Surplus City in Clinton has a good selection
Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

Yeah. They are so concerned with the white backing up that the Little Red and other "smaller" tributaries are not releasing much water out of the lakes. There will be some generation but not near what the white is experiencing.

Temple Fork Outfitters makes a nice rod with NO FAULT lifetime warranty for less than $100. Bass Pro in Memphis sells them....I haven't looked in a couple of years.

NO FAULT warranty comes in handy when you shut the rod in your tailgate.

Deltaduckman I hope you are going as far up as Gastons. Anything down stream of there is in pretty bad shape and going to get worse tonight. The docks around Calico Rock were lost in the last storm and I understood that they evacuated the folks around Norfork today. I would hate to mess up your trip but ya'll might want to check ahead. I hope things work out for you guys.
If you go the Wal Mart over in Mountain Home ought to have a good deal on fly rods.
I think I misunderstood. I thought you were fishing the White. Hopefully the Little Red will be okay. Check the WalMart in Heber Springs. Good luck!
