Question about pedigree papers

On the pedigree papers from the sire and dam of my pup, back down the line on the papers sourdough's slick nick is on both of them. Is this common? I've got the papers here with me at work if someone needs more off them to tell more about it. Thank's
What decoy's, there wasn't any decoy's here when i got here!

Yep, very common. It's called line breeding. I have a dog that appears 53 times in a 10 generation ped.
