Sipsey check the Mississippi Market Bulletin. I believe they are online. Not to get you off subject but do you fish the Sipsey River below Lewis Smith? If so how is it? I've been wanting to try it.
Re: Catfish Ponds
If just to hunt check SB on here. He has some at one time. I used to lease some from Jason Braswell in Belzoni as well

Sipsey,
I have a friend that should be ready to lease this coming year. He planted it last year and didn't hunt it for the reason to lease it this year. I believe it has not been hunted in a couple of years. It's around Grace, MS west of Rolling Fork, MS. Give me a fews days and I'll find out if you interested send me a PM.

Yes I want them to hunt on.... So, if anyone knows anyone that some catfish ponds that have a good bit of ducks let me know, and I dont care if they are all divers.... as longs as there are good numbers of ducks!
White river, Yes I fish the Sipsey... But around Northport, AL if you know where that is... But its tricky you have to know how to run it in a boat and its hard to put in on it but you can get into places on that river that are as good as it gets for fishing.

Huge numbers of ducks???? I am pretty sure you are looking for another state. We had catfish ponds last year and did not have much luck at all. Now I wish we could get Wingmans ponds back.
Re: Catfish Ponds
Check around the Belzoni area this fall. From what I hear, there will be only 4 fish farmers left in the county after this year. Rumor has it some huge operations that have been in fish for 30 years will be going dry and put into row crops soon. If this new farm bill thing passes with the special stipulation about fish ponds and CRP, I look for a few thousand acres of bluebill habitat to turn into trees. I'm sure there will be a few ponds for lease this winter.

Dang, now we are going to lose one of the few notable (positive) things Humphreys is known for.... Catfish Captial of the World...... what next?
Re: Catfish Ponds
There will still be plenty of cats in the Yazoo and Sunflower Rivers. Will we see the return of the local fish market?
Instead of "Catfish Capitol", Humphreys Co. might look into a few of these catchy sayings:
Humphreys Co., Home of the 2,000 year old cypresses at Sky Lake.
Humphreys Co., Home of Mama's Dreamworld.
Humphreys Co., Home of the Jaketown Site.
Humphreys Co., Home of the only place you can be on food stamps while having satellite TV installed at your dilapidated trailer.
See, we still have plenty of options.
