Dave Ramsey is a fine Christian Man. He witnesses to more people in a week that Billy Graham did in a life time. For that, I support him.

But the fact of the matter is, Mr. Ramsey is getting rich off dumb people not ignorance . Just so all you followers don't get you're panties in a wad. Webster defines ignorance as uneducated or unaware. Sorry but if you have never hear this stuff before Dave Ramsey or if you think he invented it, your dumb. You've heared it. So you're aware or educated, hence the term dumb people. My best friend would give Ramsey his last dollar, he believes in him so much. As a banker, I have customer that could benefit from listening to him. But the truth is, this all common sense. Don't spend more than you make. If you can't pay for it , sell it or get another job. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS.

your right I was ignant in how to spend my money.. Not anymore.. But Dave never said he invented it, nor took credit for it.. In fact he says after he went broke he wanted to find out how to manage his money and he went looking for old gray haired people who had money to find out how they did it.. He said that this is all common sense. So he is not trying to pull the wool over someone's eye. He has done a good job of relating money, to relationships and to God. Depending on how you grew up, you may or may not have been exposed to it in that light. At least I wasn't.

But I ain't broke.

All kidding aside. I'm not trying to say I'm right and your wrong. I'm just trying to show you that Dave Ramsey is selling you something that is free. I wish I could sell it. I am a banker. Great job, love it. I try to advise customers everyday what would be best for their long term financial position. Most don't care. Give me the money, Don't give me advise.

No offence, but I wouldn't listen to you either. But most do listen to Dave. Fact is it has to come from am inpartial party, and only when you have no other options... I have tried to tell this to my family and they won't listen..

But I do agree with you here lilham. We are all grown ups... No one should have to instruct us on how to wipe our own a#$. The problem is that a lot of people aren't old enough (Mentally) for our wants not to hurt us. I would love to go out and buy a brand new duramax tomorrow, and could afford to but my current vehicle is paid for and with diesel @3.80 a gallon, that move just wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. So I guess for now, i'll remain one step behind the Jones'

I haven't quite shaved my head and drank the Kool-Aid but I like Dave Ramsey.

Common sense has gone the way of the Dodo bird and Grandma doesn't know diddly squat about Roth IRA's, medical ESA's, or that depreciating asset affecting the so-called bargain at zero interest.

The fact is most Americans are sucked up into a consumer crazy mess and can use some common sense. Most poker buddies and bro-in-laws are talking about their new toy with no payments until 2009 NOT Mutual Funds and that those new $30,000 vehicles are for fools and millionaires.

His message is good one and free on radio & on-line. I don't begrudge him him for selling extra stuff people may want, whether it's T-shirts, envelopes or books.

To me it's sorta like the Weather Channel, i.e. "Why didn't I think of that and make a million dollars?"

Yep,if we (myself sometimes included) were not so spoiled and whip out the plastic,ol' Dave wouldn't have to remind us. He is making a good living because many Americans are irresponsible.(again, sometimes myself included)
And the statement about him being a Christian gentleman is correct, but I dunno if I would agree to witnessing to more than Billy Graham.

Sorry statement should have read:

Dave Ramsey is a fine Christian Man. He witnesses to more non-Christian people in a week that Billy Graham did in a life time. For that, I support him.

The point I was trying to make was, Non-Christian people don't wake up and say, I'm going to listen to The Rev today, but they do turn their dial to Mr. Ramsey.

I'm not upset at Mr. Ramsey. I'm not upset that he is selling it, I would sell it if I could. I just can't believe that there is that many people to buy it. And not just buy, live it.

Program can't fail if you follow. Only flaw in the system is that the median income for a family in Mississippi at the last census was around $32,000.00. There is an old saying, you'll never have much if you don't owe much. For a family in the lower tier in the Mississippi income level, They'll never be able to save enough to buy anything for cash at their income level. But that's not Mr, Ramsey's fault.
