After you have been on the forum you learn what is worth posting about and what is not. I simply chose not to post because I have better things to do that argue over somebody's opinions on another man/woman. I have stated before that we all have opinions and are entitled to them. A quote I heard one time is "You can keep you mouth closed and let people wonder how stupid you are. Or you can open your mouth and remove all doubt." I do enjoy reading other peoples opinions and sometimes it will play with my anger or make me laugh but people will have to just wonder about me most of the time. Ya'll have fun and keep me laughing. :D

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is some truth to this statement.. I started to reduce my debt in 2003.. Started off with 80,000 in debt.. Whittleted it down to 19,000.. But in 2006, I got bit and bought a brand new shiny Crew Cab chevy.. My first new vehicle ever.. Debt went back up to 50,000. However, when my dad pasted away I got his 99 Chevy Tahoe and so I sold the Crew Cab and bought a 98 buick park avenue with 48,000 miles on it.. My family thought I was nuts for selling the truck and buying a buick.. But I sold the truck and now the 500.00 a month payment goes into a College fund for my Son.. I just couldn't look him in the eyes in 20 years and say.. Son, here is your Student loan debt of 100,000... Sorry I just had to have that brand new truck..

Now Chad, You are not following dave's plan. Pay off the house first, then schooling for the kids.

Now Chris, You are not following dave's plan. Pay off the house first, then schooling for the kids.

Who's Chris??

The 7 steps are
1. 1,000 in the bank
2. Pay off all debt except the house
3. Fully Funded Emergency fund of 3-6 Months of expenses
4. 15% into Retirement
5. College Planning
6. Pay off house early (should be a 15 year note)
7. Build Wealth and Give Give Give..

never seen the steps posted but from a Christian perspective his steps are completley out of order

the Bible instructs us to give 10% to the church first and foremost

Dave got it last...maybe he's not reading the same Bible I have

The "give" part is not talking about tithing.

Tithe comes off of the top.

Your reading to much into it. The last step is over and above tithing. When you start using his budget it is the first thing on the list.. We used to not tithe much at all because we always had it last. Now we have about tripled the amount we give to church. Dave states you should tithe 10% of Gross earnings. So before you bash him, you might want to have all the info.

I have only one question to Dave Ramsay, If I will be fifty years old by the time I can pay cash for a ski boat, Kindof make it useless to buy don't you think. All I need at fifty is to fall and break my hip skiing... No one needs Dave Ramsay, you know what you can afford and what you can't. We arre all grown ups... Life is short but live within your means
