can anyone identify these tracks...
can anyone identify these tracks...
i know i shoot the schit a lot on here ...
but this is the real deal.. my good freind sparks and i were making our way back from philly to the jackson area.. instead of going the usual way to carthage and then down 25 ... we decided to break out the topo map and drive back roads for a ways..
somwhere south of madden ms.. right on the leake/ neshoba county line theres a big 200+ lake.. we came down a hill and got a good look at the lake.. i told my boy sparks to stop and let me glass the lake as to see if it had any ducks on it..
as i got out i looked down at the ground and saw what was some kinda cat track.. too big to be a house cat and imo too big to be bob-cat.. if someone will shoot me an e-mail who can post pics.. i'll forward'em to ya so you can post'em for me..
thanks

Re: can anyone identify these tracks...
i know its kinda hard to get a feel for the size of the track.. but i can assure it was much to large to be a housecat.. anybody have any idea as to what a good size bobcat in that part of east miss would weigh?

That looks like a big cat print to me. Definitely not a house cat and one heck of a bobcat if that's what it is. What's funny is that I have family that lives outside of Carthage and they swear that they have spotted a black panther roaming around their house.

buddy of mine who lives in lousiville swears up and down he had a mountain lion/florida panther come under his deer stand several years back. He has no reason to lie about that kindof stuff, so I didnt know what to think.

gator
Why is my mouth so dry this morning, when I drank so much last night?
Re: can anyone identify these tracks...
Saw a cougar in Carrollton bout 10 years ago while I was deer hunting. So there are cougars in Ms.
If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I would not believe it.
My guess on the track is a black panther / bobcat mix.

I'm gonna guess it is a Liger...it's pretty much my favorite animal.
Re: can anyone identify these tracks...
I do not know what that is and maybe I am just a skeptic but to me it looks like it was either man made (not saying you made it) or just something else. Here is why I say that I cats foot is not like a deer hoof and typically they do not dig in like that. Much like we walk. Notice the human foot print next too it, It barely broke the service. Yes it is sandy but not for a cat to make that kind of impression. Cats walk very lightly and have padded feet. Plus all the sand in the first pic that is dug out around it makes it look like someone was digging it out with a stick.. Maybe I am just a skeptic. All I ever hear is people spotting them jokers but for some reason no one can ever get a shot and no remains have ever been found.

DAMMIT HAYES!!!!!!!!!!!
logic and this type schit have nothing in common.
i would appreciate it if you would change your post to something along the lines of "yes, it is w/out a doubt a panther............and, a black one at that."
it would also help if you would say something like "i SEEN one along time ago, sorry no pics though, but i swear on my cousins grave, i SEEN it"
work w/ me here hayes.
