Wingman, i think you and I attend the same services! That's the way I've always understood it. Good job summing all that up so short. You just covered several thousand years in a few paragraphs! I respect a man who actually knows WHY he believes WHAT he believes rather than relying on what he hears. You've been digging!

 Wing, you've got WAY too much time on your hands. I would guess you're not married.

AJ-I believe that you are just not quite getting it. Wingman's time is short, just like mine--we are Christians-living only a small amount of time here on earth, but, are promised an eternity in Heaven. You see, it is the mission of the Christian to tell others about the saving grace of Jesus--we are commission to do so in the Bible. Eternity is a long time. Everyone has and is given the choice: to believe or not--Believers go to Heaven and non-believers go to Hell--forever.

Please don't think that we think highly of ourselves as Christians. We were all born nasty, filthy, lowdown sinners--only by the grace and mercy of our Father are we made clean. Can we still be sinners?--absolutely, we sin daily-not that we want to--its just our nature to. But the Lord forgives when we ask for his forgiveness.

AJ, please take the advice offered before and meet with one of us so that you can share in our joy!

By the way, I believe that Wingman is married--he just feels the same as I do--nothing in this world is more important or supreme than his personal walk with the Lord--and he can't help sharing his Good News with others. :D

Deadeye: Glad you had a great time. I've been to (3) PK events and had to miss one due to Guard Drill. My dad went and had a great time.

Hey, Tunica, I'm sorry if I came across as dogging you, man. I wasn't trying to single you out, but I just wanted to say a few things.

Shoot, I think we oughtta talk about topics such as this. This is one place on the net that we can do it without ridicule. Hey, if somebody doesn't want to read it, then that's their choice.

Oh, and I AM married, aj, to the sexiest chic this side of Heaven. The Lord is good! If I told you the story of how we dated and ended up marrying, you wouldn't believe me. God sent that woman to me, buddy, no doubt about it. And I fully intend to prosper and MULTIPLY. I got my own lil' Goshen right up here in Isola. Take care friend.

Well said Wingman and Goldberg!
Glad to read that Feedcall and Peewee have finished the book!

I totally agree with Wingman on diggin' into this on your own. That is why I recommended the book. Others can lead you to Christ Jesus and God the Father and help you understand scripture, but they cannot believe in and accept Jesus for you. That is a personal decision that has to be made by every person on this earth.
It is one of our jobs as Christians to be a witness for Jesus Christ, to tell our story about how we came to believe in Him, and how that decision has changed our lives. Notice we are to be a witness only, not an attorney. We are not to argue with unbelievers, or other believers for that matter, about scripture, denominations, or beliefs. We are just supposed to tell our story, motivate, support, live by example, and let God do the rest. If they are serious enough about knowing the Father and the truth, they will be motivated to do research on their own. This is where God works on them through the Holy Spirit and gives them understanding.

As for AJ, I don't know his personal spiritual status. But I would encourage him to get serious about it, as God created him for a specific purpose, and I do know that the purpose is not to cause friction, or make fun of believers in Christ.

That's probably exactly why this topic has escalated to the point that it has. It's God's way of getting aj to do just that:

I hope he does.

Yep, my offer still stands for AJ and any other board member. I'll be happy to meet, buy lunch and share His word. When something good happens, you tell somebody. How many times on this site has someone killed their first banded duck and they post it as good news. They want to tell somebody...... It's that simple.

Wingman, some great posts by you on this topic.

I have found that often when one can't argue the merits of an issue, then that person may resort to personal attacks. Be it insecurity or general ignorance. I imagine that AJ falls into the later and now has the most important decision he will ever make facing him.

I know that there are individuals who outright refuse to believe in salvation by grace, but, can't fathom it. AJ, I certainly hope you will not take that position.

By no means should you think I am questioning whether you are or are not saved. That is between you and God. You very well may be and found it amusing to "push buttons". I question that motive, but, there again that is between you and God.
