Camouflaging my truck

Postby Redneck » Wed Jun 11, 2003 3:32 pm

I'm trying to find some info on getting my truck painted Mossy Oak Break-Up or Shadow Grass. Does anyone have any information on someone that could do this. I want it to look good, so don't tell me about getting a spray paint can, AJ! Found some info on a "sticker" type of kit that is sold but I don't know how well that will hold up in the woods. Any info would be appreciated. :?:

I know they'll do it at the War Eagle factory in Monticello, AR. Maybe you could contact them and make arrangements to have the work done in one day on a Friday and you could make a long weekend out of it. Plan a subsequent trip up to the Ozarks or something like that.

Good luck.

hey neck, there is a company in Southaven called Camper City, and they do an excellent job with the stick-on stuff. I have seen some of that stuff hold up better than paint. Many friends have had good experiences with it.
Also, a couple of guys I know have had there entire trucks done by War Eagle $$$$$$$$$$, and they look great too. but the vinyl kits, If a good on is purchased, and applied correctly (by a proffessional), look great.
just my 2 cents

 Now would I do that? My good friend Cuz Strickland would suggest getting some camo seats, bug deflector, and 1-way back window insert to go w/ that paint job. Man, you'll be invisible!

I would definately call War Eagle before you make your decision. Buddy of mine just had a jeep done a few months ago and it looked awesome! I think he paid $1200.00 for the whole deal , but that included everything. They gave him a pack of stickers and told him to put them on everything that he didnt want camo paint on. His was done in Shadow Grass and it looked real good, even made the pattern match-up when the doors were either open or closed! Alot of attention to detail. Dont know how much a pick-up would cost, but a phone call could probably get that answered real quick- they're nice people.

On that Hunting Across America show, that fella had his F350 done in Break Up from War Eagle and it looked awesome! I've been thinking about having it done myself. Saw some killer camo jobs by camo clad at the DU fest too. Kent Saxon at BFC Marine (Gator Trax Boats) in Springfield, LA camoed his and his partners trucks and they looked awesome. Don't know if they would do it for someone, but it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and ask.

This is Jeff Foiles F350 with Camo Clad.

Here is Camo Clads truck. Looks good up close too.

And finally Kent Saxon's Custom Kamo truck.

Auto Trim Designs in Pearl put some camo on the bottom of my tahoe. The guy said it should hold up well. It's made by 3M, he compared it to the simulated woodgrain material that was on minivans. He ordered it and installed it cheaper than I could buy camoclad off the internet and do it myself. I would post a pic of it if I knew how...

nough, I have a pewter Tahoe though, it looks like every other one running down the street. I had to do something to it to make it stand out.

Thanks for the info, guys. The clear coat is coming off of my truck, so I have to get it painted before it starts to rust, plus it looks like crap. Called War Eagle and they said they would do it for $1200. I thought that was a great deal, seeing as how most paint shops want anywhere from $800 to $1500. Camper City wanted $2500 to put the camo clad on. Decided to let War Eagle paint it. When they get through, I will post some pictures of it. They said it would be the end of July before they could get to it.

My wife just had her 'H2' painted PINK!

'Said she wanted to make a statement. (hehehe).....Yeah, I'm 'BAD'......and I'm FEMALE, too!

She also had the interior done in Max4HD.

Oh yeah......her dog rides in the passenger seat and I sit in the back.......(or in the kennel crate, if I'm wet). 'Really embarrasing when we pull-up at the boat ramp.
