St Augustine can be tricky. I bought a bag of weed and feed from Lowe's that was just for St Augustine and it did a pretty good job and worked fairly quick. Just have to be careful with with the southern grasses.

I think it is good idea. I am going to be doing mine here pretty soon. I will spray with round-up while the bermuda is dormant and when it turns green I will spray MSMA and through out the fertilize. Works for me.

The following was emailed to me by my uncle who is one of my chemical reps

MSMA is going to be pulled or stock will be depleted probably this summer. I am pretty sure production of the product has stopped, so when existing inventory is depleted that will be the end. The only thing on the market to replace it is Drive (Quinclorac). It is 10 times the price and less effective too from what I have seen. There are several products hitting the market with quinclorac in as an additive so we will have to wait and see how this works out but the industry has lost a great tool. MSMA is only effective when the air temps is consistently in the mid to 80's for 3-4 consecutive days.

Also another good thing for crabgrass, johnson grass, and nutsedge is trimec, it works really good and can be sprayed just about anytime

Let me know what type of grass you have and i will stop by and look and tell you what you need to spray on it. I guess you are trying to keep up with the neighbour yard.

you can spray it now with simazine or trimec. A lot of lawn care specialists use strike three. Glyphosate will not hurt the bermuda as long as it is dormant.
