Wild rice

Postby duckbuster330 » Mon Feb 04, 2008 3:24 pm

Anyone ever planted any wild rice in old slews or dried ponds. Or got any opinions on it.

Plant a lot of it. The deer will wade out and eat it all.

Where can I find some wild rice seed. The grocery store stuff won't work, will it?

I googled it and didn't really find any sources.

thanks,

I would not expect it to do well in MS. It does not occur naturally here like it does in northern states (i.e., MN). There are seed sources for it online.
