got a shot yesterday which made the fourth one for me this flu season, including the flu shot I got at the beginning of the flu season. Nothing has seemed to work, only temporary relief. I am hoping the rosephin (not sure how to spell it) will do the trick. The sinus cocktail I had last week only made it mad. I hate getting sick

I got a dechadron and rocephin shot (both very thick, pushed VERY slowly, both hips sore as a rising) plus 10 days of antibiotics (bad case of the chits) and a cough syrup that hasn't hit on anything (poly hist, not the stuff that works like No Tuss), the doctors are too chicken to give you what works. I was at the doctor's & pharmacy for 5 hours yesterday. I've never been that beat as when I got home. Passed smooth out from exhaustion...
with the flu, nothing is going to work but time really. Tamiflu and the other flu drug is something that only shortens the duration from what I understand, and it is only a small window where it can be adminsistered and be effective. Some of you drug dealers correct me where I am wrong.
Obviuosly the rocephin (antibiotic) is for a probable respiratory or sinus infection. It took 2 rounds of zithromax for me to get rid of the last sinus infection, and i have just suffered with the respiratory infection I currently have. None of that stuff works on me either. I dang neared had to threaten the pediatrician to prescribe a potent enough cough syrup so my kids could rest. I think they (doctors) are so scared of being sued or they have seen so many cases of presrciption abuse that they are gunshy in their treatment. I really can't say that I blame them.
The flu is absolutely raging in MS, LA, and TX right now. We are selling flu test as fast as we can get them. If your child has it, please don't delay in getting them to a pediatrician. Also ask them to give a flu test. MAny of the doctors don't want to spend the $15 to test for a definitive answer on flu. They just want to treat "flu like symptoms". A positive will, IMO, rule out any need for a antibiotic. Maybe one of of friendly forum physicians could give us a little more advice on how to deal with the children.

only in Mississippi. That is not true anywhere else!! as far as the kids-you just need to watch them--the 2 deaths were a result of not getting them in quickly eough. Make sure you and them get your flu shots. May not prevent it but it also probably will not be as bad. The more years in a row you get the shot, the more immunity you will have in the future.
Also, get that whopping cough shot. It protects your babies by protecting you.

Tamiflu? I hear that the schits are common with that one.
