Ruger 22-250.. But the Swift is wicked..

I also saw that BPS has a 17HMR with a scope and the accutrigger for 239.00.. Not a bad starter gun..

Accutrigger is too light for me. I have a friend who adjusted his down even more, I think he could bump it on the ground and it would go off. Just too light and dangerous for me.

I think the Ruger .204 is supposed to be bad booty, and VERY fast. Check into that one. For me, I think .223 is the best all around. It has dropped every predator I have called in within 150 yards, was absolutely devastating to the Montana gopher population, and I think it would probably kill a deer grave yard dead, although I am a little hesitant to do it. But to each their own.

Try that 223 out on a deer.. You won't be dissapointed.. My nephew wasn't when he took his first with my 222.

A .17 hmr is too light for coyotes. It is VERY unreliable for killing. If you don't drop it right there, there is no chance of a blood trail. Nothing less than a centerfire if you want to ethically kill predators. A .17 hmr is great for stuff smaller than a coyote or bobcat though. Great for raccoons, possums, and dillers.

I agree with duramax about the .17 HMR but I will say the HMR works great on beavers. Just make sure you get the ballistic tips. Very accurate with deadly results.

I have whacked several with a scatter gun turkey hunting. I shot this one off me decoy, nobody messes with Gloria. Turkey calls work really good this time of year but it may be hard to confence "the man" that you are hunting yotes with a turkey call and a scatter gun

Got a CZ 527 Varmit with laminated stock, bull barrel and set trigger with a 5-15X40 on it. It will shoot a nickel group at 200, with all the holes touching. The set trigger is the way to go if you find a model with one on it.

do you have the .17 remington, the .223, or the .204 ruger in that gun?
