I agree Savage makes a great gun for the money, but if you want a really nice rifle look into a Cooper, You will pay for one though!

Howa makes a really nice rifle, also. I have a .22-250 lightning varminter supreme, 26" bull stainless, boyd's laminate vented stock with high cheekpiece, adj. trigger down to 2 lbs. with no trigger-shoe jutting out. Shoots 1/2"-3/4" groups with cheap winchester white-box ammo, costs under $600.
you did put in the plug, right?

I have a .17, .223, and 22-250. All have their perks, but it just depends on what you would use it most for. If just plinking alot, I would go with .17 or .223, ammo is usually cheaper. But 22-250 will flat out drive tacks inside of 200 yards. 22-250 is one of the fastest on the market, .223 isn't far behind it with the right bullet. What sort of thing would you be doing with it?

Bushmaster A4 with a heavy barrel, in 223 of course.
I like yankees... as long as they keep their gas tanks full and cars headed north.

i've had two .204's, both shot very well. shoot an old ruger heavy barrel .22-250 now, just a hair slower(not much) but alot more versatle.

can't beat a .17 hmr for a smaller gun, deadly at 200 yds.

the savage, though a cheaper rifle is very accurate.

I'm not about to say it's the best, but I have an unusual rifle.

It's a Remington 5mm. They don't make them anymore, not even the ammo.

It's a necked down rimfire... it's fun to shoot. Although with ammo out of production, I don't shoot it much.

It's different, for sure.

Savage model 10 fp .223 (police tactical version). Coyotes don't like it very much.
