Which do you prefer when hunting Ag fields primarily rice?

I have hunted from both and like the roll tops better. You can start rolling the top back and not flare birds if your careful.
Biggest issue with roll tops is making sure not to catch a head when it starts rolling.

boy this is almost Beretta/Bennelli/Browning....
I like the fact that roll tops are dry in the rain, and they don't tend to spook birds as much..... BUT, as a good buddy of mine pointed out a few days ago...Roll-tops are LOUD and can be more difficult to hide than a narrow flip top....
