That shotgun should still be fine ---especially if it had a factory paint job, or paint job from a gunsmith.
I had a Mossberg 835 (camo painted by gunsmith) that went overboard the last weekend one season. The high water did not recede until months later. After it had been under the water for about 7-8 months, I went back out and found it on a mudflat in very shallow water. IT was coated with mud and scum. The gunsmith cleaned it back up and restored it to near original condition. I used the gun for several years after that.
If a Mossberg can be salvaged after being under water for 7-8 months, surely a nice Browning can as well.
