check this crap out.....we went to a hole we scouted last weekend, killed 3 limits of greenheads.....we come back this weekend, meet up with some guys who asked if we did any good out there last weekend, and my partner speaks up and says, we had a good weekend and killed 3 limits of mallards.....now, granted these guys have been hunting this area for years, just as we have....just never spoken to them.....and mind you this is a BIG, BIG area......as a safety issue, we and most people always ask where are you going at the boat ramp.....same as usual....they say they are going to X spot.....and we say we are going to X spot again....well, they put two and two together, and guess what??? they werent going to their spot......they got 2 limits, we got skunked......this just happened saturday....

thank god i wont be hunting public land next year at all....

What did the guys do when your Dad shot them down?? Did they hang out or go about their merry way?
Sound familiar?

If you can't keep your mouth shut, you deserve what you get. If you take people that can't keep their mouth shut, you deserve what you get.

Studdered around like a bunch of fools.

"Well uh, what about the other side of the hole?"
Um, do you plan on hunting tonight too?"
"Are there any places nearby"

Same ole same ole....

Ditto - that's a hard lesson to learn, but it only takes once.

You have to be careful what you say, and who you talk to.

That's a real problem, all over. There's no substitute for the proper tutorship/mentorship in hunting/fishing etiquette.
1. If you do good at a hole you've found-keep your mouth shut.
2. If you do bad at a hole you've found-keep your mouth shut(there might be a day that it WILL be good)
One problem we have as a whole, I assume, is that there are no "secret" holes anymore(meaning public owned ground). There's way too many hunting these days for that. The only hope I have is to go in places too thick/rough/dangerous/inconvenient for others to go. We don't always kill ducks, but most of the time we're not crowded.
