xpress boats?

Buddy found one for sale, i honestly don't know much about them.

Whats the pro's and con's?

If you have one how do you like it? What's your experience in the overall quality of the boat.

I've heard that the welds don't hold up. I ain't big on trying to swim in freezin temps. just see'in if i need to hold on to my money or let it out for a ride.

I have ridden in a many of them, and I can tell you they are heavy(not as much as war eagle) I personally dont like them, as the ones I have ridden in have all had some flex in them and I have seen several of them crack in the welds ect... I have a friend who I crappie fish with some and he bought one a few years ago and he said it was the worst boat he had ever had and was going to sell it this year.

owned 2.. bounced off stumps,trees,rocks,etc. good in rough water,river, for a small boat. i had .80 gauge boats. did good in shallow water and very stable. i have nothing negative to say bout express

Owned a 1650 camo with a 25 HP. The boat was an HD hull which means the ribs ran in the same direction as the keel. The hull looked like a bass boat hull almost. Best damn aluminum boat I have ever seen or owned. I think Xpress makes the best aluminum boats period.

I just sold one and it was the best aluminum boat I ever owned. I am going back to a glass boat but if I was to buy aluminum I would definately not hesitate to buy an xpress again. I know another guy that has one and he loves it as well. Best bang for your buck if you ask me.

well one of the ones I rode in was my dads and he sold it b/c it had alot of flex in it and rode ruff as hell. Now with that said everyone is making better boats now so who knows, best thing to do is test drive it before you buy it

When I was looking for a boat I looked them all over and decided I was going to buy a xpress or a war eagle. The main thing that made me go with a war eagle was the weight, the war eagle is a lot lighter than the express. When you only have a 25 hp engine , weight makes a lot of difference. But, they are both good boats.

Got a good friend that has a 16 ft with a 90 hp on it. Set up like a bass boat. it will get you soaked comming up on a plane if you have any breeze from the side. He would not buy another he said.

I've got an 05 model 16 foot with a 50 on it. It's set up a bass boat, but all aluminum and camo'd for a duck boat.
I have no complaints with mine, I love it. I would definately be willing to buy another. Xpress also seems to be more boat for the $$ than some of the others. I bought mine at Mississippi Marine in Brookhaven and couldn't have been any more pleased with the dealership either.

The only boat I really have to compare it to was an older bass tracker. The Xpress has a smoother ride and doesn't tend to skip or jump in a turn like the tracker did.

I have a 15 foot Xpress DB. Sitting on a trailer behind my house. That I have made warranty claims on twice for MANY cracked welds all over the boat, and a crack in the hull at the eye ring where it rests against the roller on the trailer. It was fixed under warranty the first time, after much squaking by Xpress. Never could get the CS guy to call me back. Then many of the repaired welds cracked again, as did the weld in the hull, and they claimed it was suddenly my fault for using an improper trailer. Yeah, right. It was a freaking Xpress trailer that they sold me in a package. And why did the welds in the boxes and console crack repeatedly from an "improper trailer?"

The dealer I purchased it from, Hale's Marine, told me he no longer carries Xpress boats, b/c he got tired of having to tell people Xpress was not going to honor the warranty for welds cracking. Had Katrina not "distracted me" I was about to go nuts on them. I may still do it, just don't have my paper work any more. Its probably somewhere in Guam. Would I buy another Xpress boat, HELL NO. Not in a million years. They do shoddy work, won't return phone calls about warranty issues, and don't stand by the products they sell. And thats the bottom line.

Anyone who wants to come see what multiple cracked welds in an expensive supposedly "top of the line" duck boat look like before you toss away a bunch of money, I can hook you up. Seriously.

I've ridden in a 19' xpress bass boat set up, it was a smooth rider.

Might not be saying much, I'm used to a 14' flatbottom polarkraft.

They're pricey but seaark is the way I'd go.

I've got a 18.5 foot G3 made by Yamaha. Debated between this boat and a Xpress. two different hull designs. Xpress is more of a bassboat design. You get a faster smoother ride with the apress, but lose some stability while sitting still. Got about a foot and a half and 15 more HP for about 4,000 less. Bought from Duncan Marine in Jackson.

A boat manufacture that will not warranty Cracked welds is gonna sink fast!

buy a Triton, Best aluminum hull on the market and has a no hassel lifetime warranty on the hull, its tough, and does not flex at all in the water! i would then second sea ark, they are tough as nails and have also been around along time!
