Fastest Teal hunt ever
I hunted with a friend near Lake Charles, LA last Thursday. It's a private place called the Illinois Plant--mostly rice field. Hunted out of fiberglass pit blinds, but not for long. We started shooting at 6:32am and had three limits by 6:47am. I didn't even get a chance to enjoy it! Wish ya'll coulda seen it.

Congrats. I haven't even had the oportunity to try the teal this year, but that reminded me of a good shoot I was on a couple of years ago. Three of us hunting, the first green head dropped in right at shooting light. My buddy sent his dog as soon as the bird hit the water. We had seventeen more ducks on the water before the dog got back with the first one! That will probably never happen again.

It is all about being in the right place at the right time. If ducks want in a hole they don't mind a few redlegs pointing out of the water. It is like shooting in self defense. We had about 5000 bird come to roost in a bean field that we were goose hunting in. Pintail, widgeons, greenies, the whole gang was there. We just stood around in the coffee bean until it stopped. Two problems were it was after La season had ended and it was well after sunset. Still it was a beautiful event to remember.

Same story here...After hunting MS with no luck two weekends, we headed to Venice LA last weekend. Three of us killed our limits in about half hour. Also saw LOTS of big ducks, mostly mottled, pintails, etc.
