Meeka- You're right. But alot of investigators are so backed up on cases they see this as minor to them even thought the victim considers it a major event to them. Some, and I repeat some, investigators would rather not fool with something like that especially if they can pawn it off on another court or get it off their backs. It really matters if the investigator wants to help or not, been there and have seen it many times.
And it also depends on the DA....he can say wether or not if he wants the case. Some DA's are lazy too, I speak from experience.

Rip em - I wish it were that easy although I doubt seriously if anybody would miss him.

if you look at some of the past posts, i think you might locate phone numbers, home addresses, and maybe even a map to his house... 8) but i wouldnt know for sure.
Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

I think someone even posted his social security # once. Which I thought was a little scary.

Don't bother sueing him. I have a $6,200 judgement agaisnyt him in my office drawer from 1996. I have yet to collect even one centavo. He's been ripping people off since 1995. I find it very frustrating to see that our legal system has failed so miserably in allowing this crook to continue stealing from people. Simply amazing.

Do not construe this as my legal advice to you. But IMO, you should ask your attorney if there is a statute of limitations on a judgment and if yours should be refiled, has been filed in the county of his residence, etc., and what it would cost you to serve him with a subpoena to a judgment debtor examination, if you have enough money or interest to do that. And if you find he has any non-exempt real property (not homestead) or personal property like bank accounts, atv's, computers and guns in excess of the personal exemption amount, which is doubtful, you can try to collect through attachment or execution or garnishment.

Meeka, bear with me here! I have never met this dude, so It's really none of my bussiness, but say it were. Why go and spend the time, money, and effort pursueing this, when it has already failed. Maybe some of the actions you mentioned, are not familiar to me, but the system seems to be in the favor of this booty WIPE instead of John Q Public. Talk about a failing system. We are living in it! Looks to me ,if you produced a receipt, proving he had taken your money, then had an eye witness, to your being "shafted", that should pretty much be the end of the story. But noooooooo! The authorities come at you with a line like.... How much money are we talking about! When you reply... $2,500...They procede to tell you ...Thats not enough money to be concidered a felony.... When this matter is labled a minor offence... It is of no importance to them.

Laugh if you like, but ths same thing happened to my sister when she built her house...She paid a marble man $2,300 in advance, for work to be done.... He never showed back up... When she brought it up to the authorities in Lamar County, they smiled and said,... you'll be lucky if you ever see a dime of that money. DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID!!! They told her of other people, this same man, had done the same way!!! They knew it was going on and did nothing!

Since I've gone on this long I'll go ahead and tell you, These "victims" cant even go in together to jack the money up to felony level. Ya wanna know why?.... It violates his rights as a bussiness owner!!!

Sorry I got long winded.... But this really sux !!!!

I still say, JUST SHOOT THE S.O.B.

Someday, the right one will !!!

JMHO

R.I.P., why not get creative, shooting is so messy, theres lots of moccasins runnin around these days!

Yeah, well maybe the system is screwed up. I'm not sure but some things could be improved.

This problem about not being able to recover a civil debt is common. The problem is you cant put people in jail for not being able to pay a debt (like a judgment after you go to court and win). I recall from history that they used to do that in England and our founding fathers decided it was a bad idea to have debtors prisons.

good luck.

IMO the skweeky wheel gets the grease. I kinda like the opion of going to your local news authority and watch them make the local authorities look like lazy booty holes. Unfortuantly a lot of law enforcement is either burnt out or basicallynot worth a crap any way and that give the few good ones a bad rep.

You can get this guy if you want to.
