Drakeshead, I know what you mean. I am in a camp north of Vicksburg and for a good camp around here they are hard to get into. Drakeshead, if you work at bellsouth you work with my father in law and I got a good many buddies that work there too. That man that lives down the road from you, I always fiqured he duckhunted but I dont know him (I am guessing you are talking about the guy in Lakepark).

Peewee,

Yep, you figured it out. He lives on Lakeside Drive in Lake Park. I live just down from him on Sunnybrook Circle.

Do you live down this way?

So, you know a lot of BellSouth guys? I have been working downtown in the Central Office for BellSouth for 2 1/2 years. I am originally from Tupelo.

to try and break it down for you iam the president at delta outing club in tunica we have about 4000 acres with 20 or so holes green timber and various hunting oppurtunities a couple years ago members wanted to get smaller in the number of people and have some rest areas we did this but it made our dues go up to 4000 per group 1000 a person in side that group /my idea when starting this was to keep cost down and i believe we have been able to do that we have a nice club house ,fishing , a dove hunt ,skeet and three geographical locations to hunt it is more than just paying for a lease there is water pumping /insurance /dirt work /blinds /sled blinds /pits a portable gas pump to pump out the pits /decoy and decoy bags /locks keys/ gas for heat /bank charges /attorney fees /food plot money/and the list goes on oh yea some one to make sure things get done so if a guy says he will lease you a hole to duck hunt in there is yet alot of work to be done and money to be spent / gee we have not even started to talk about the harvesting of the fluffy things///oh i forgot about the fire wood for the fire place let me go on the past years and the time and work that went into putting in the pits building the blinds the leevees the water control structures so if your buying into a established club look arround and see what 's been done look at the holes and see if it is that just a hole your paying this guy for or has some real thought been put into attracking ducks...could be the old saying's right you get what you pay for ////or you get out what you put in any way i hope this might help oh yea for you guys in these clubs don't lie to a newbie about your sucess if you have done the work on your club a guy that is a good hunter will be able to tell/// lots of luck to every one and be safe :) :) :)

Hey Danny, I was talked into joining this unbelievable club last year and put in all my workdays as many members didn't and a few did. I've killed more ducks on almost all of my public land outings than I saw on this UNBELIEVABLE club all of last year. 5000 acres of rice, 3 pit blinds, 4000sq. ft. lodge, 1500 a year = saw 6 ducks (killed 0) But, that was supposed to be one of the better farms in that area for ducks. Hell, I've killed several hundred birds 60 miles south of that place and 1 1/2 hours closer to the house. Anyway, 1000 dollars would have to be my limit I'd say " then I'd have to do alot of investigating to make sure I wasn't just paying my memebership to join some workdays."

So Red_Head you killed just as many as I did didn't you.

That is generally the way it has always been for me when joining a club.

I paid 1500.00 for the lease, Worked 6 weekends prior to the season, and never hunted a single day on the place. We did have a party or two though.

Not really about the numbers killed as much as it was about the company for me. Just so happens I don't fit into the cheating on your wife and drinking till I pass out bunch.
