for all that's "bad" about the internet in general, it's post like this that i keep reading it for.........to see truly talented and dedicated folks such as i'm looking at here, showing their stuff is just flat out cool as hell.

I agree 100%. I'm just giving you guys a hard time.
I also like to make some my own stuff(deer stands, fletching arrows,etc..), but I usually wind up with something that looks like crap, works half as good as what you would buy at the store, and costs twice as much. If I'm lucky. My ADD usually gets the best of me.
Swamprooter - If you have a full length photo of one of your bows, I would love to see it. How many hours does it take to build one?
Both of you guys look like you do great work, and I appreciate you sharing it with us. It takes a lot of guts to put your own work out there in the internet where a bunch of jack asses (like me) can critique it.

My cocobolo has now been "tuned" to my liking and to be honest, it's as good a call as I've got. This weekend will provide me the opportunity to call 'em in with it. Will be gratifying to say the least.
Would be glad to make some for you guys - but obviously, with the time required to do so and the fact that I have a full time job and two kids and a wife that requires attention - well, you know what I mean.
I'm getting my logo put together now, and will share when completed.
For anyone that is a big LSU fan, I could turn an insert made of Purpleheart wood to go with the Osage Orange barrel and somehow get an LSU logo sticker to put on the barrel. Man, would make a Tiger fan a great gift. Of course, since I am a Bama alum, pretty ugly to me.

Hey dukter nice job figured it out
I know that this post is supposed to be about duck calls, but I thought that I would post my rookie attempt at building a rifle.
I took a Remington Model 7 that I had for years and made a varmint rifle out of it. I bought the stock "roughed out", which meant that it had been about 75% carved to the basic shape, and needed to be routed to fit the action. I then had to do all of the final woodwork, float the barrel, and put the finish on it.
I was really not too happy with my craftsmanship(should have spent about twice as long sanding, filling the grain, etc...). Lots of imperfections that most people wouldn't notice, but stick out like a sore thumb to me.
The rifle, however, shoots like a dream and feels like part of your body when you shoot it. All you have to do is show it to a coyote, and he will fall over dead as fried chicken.
It's not nearly the artwork that you guys are putting out, but I guess it's ok for this ole redneck.
