The Outfitter

Postby thunnder » Sat May 03, 2003 3:43 am

I keep hearing these stories about bad service, no help, can't get waited on.... :x

Have yall checked out that new hunting and fishing store in Richland?

Its called The Outfitter

This place is nice. They got everything you could need for hunting and fishing. It's pretty cool to go into a place where someone really wants to help you. :D

They do deer processing too. I took a couple deer there past season and they done a good job. That's the best sausage I've ever had done.

It may not be better, but it has to be cheaper! No joke, Van must have the market cornered in central Mississippi. He does put out a good product though.

It's the best.
I've had sausage made by everybody around central MS and The Outfitters is the best I've had.

thunder-Have you tried Country Meat Packers in Pelahatchie? I've taken all my deer to them since Van's shorted me and screwed up my order several years ago.Better, faster, and cheaper than Van's,and you get back your own deer!

I will have to agree 150% about the Outfitters. I will tell you that you don't have to worry a bit about going in and nobody speaking with you and trying to help you get what you need. Everybody that works in there are good people. They have good prices and they can get you anything you want if they don't have it in there already. Every store I have been in except the Outfitters act like they don't really care to help you or not. A true story about the Outfitters. I went in there one day at lunch just looking around and wanted to ask some questions about a gun. The owner of the store had a stack of invoices he was trying to go through and he quit what he was doing and took the time to talk to me and get me the answers to my questions. I was wanting to buy a 300wsm and had some questions about the gun. The owner said well the best thing for you to do is to talk to people that already shoot the gun and has some experence with the gun. That was the problem, I didn't know anybody that shot the 300wsm. He went out of his way to have about 5 of his customers to call me and tell me about the gun. I have NEVER had anybody go to that much trouble to try and help a customer. I went in with all intentions of staying for 10 minutes and ended up in there for over an hour talking about hunting and guns. Service sells and I promise you nobody will out service these guys!!!!! Because of the great experence I have had in there, he will always have my business with anything I need. I suggest to everybody to give them a try!!!!! Glad to see that we have a QUALITY hunting and fishing store here in the Jackson area!

Oh yeah and you also get your OWN deer back when you take it to the Outfitters also! A very important thing about deer processing in my opinion.

Oh yeah......If you ever have to carry something back to The Outfitter don't expect to be able to get a cash refund. All they do are in store credits. Oh yeah.....Don't try to use your in store credit on your deer processing bill. They won't accept it.

As it always goes, a year or two from now you'll see post's about how somebody bought crappy stuff that didn't work and some teenager didn't know how to mount a scope. After they watched the kid mount the scope wrong, they then shot and missed a deer. They'll never go back, worse store ever.

That just seems to be the cycle of things as I see it while reading the forums. It will be very entertaining.

The Outfitter is a great store. They have just about everything you need and if they don't they'll usually get it for you.

The processing is very good and they make the best sausage, hands down! I've tried nearly everybody in the tri-county area and this sausage is the best, I can vouch for that.

This is how I see the deal about not getting a cash refund.. You can't go and buy a car and drive it for a month and then take it back and say hey I want my money back... Just don't happen like that.. Now I am sure if you bought something and all the tags and everything is still attached something could be worked out.. Those guys aren't hard to deal with...

Glad to see that there is a new store in the area. I think that the word is out now. May go by there soon...

Not knocking anyone so don't take this personal but it is funny how 4 of the most recent posts mention this store and the majority of the posting is from folks with less than ten posts...

Maybe they should advertise on the site??

Softcall- The reason my posts show so few is the PD lost the free ISP that I've been using and I couldn't retrieve my password to log in. My other login name was "RB". Don't know about the others.

Sportsman450,

You took the words right out of my mouth. Since this all came up in the Mean Mallard post, I thought maybe these guys worked at the Outfitter. Maybe so...maybe not.
