Double Banded Cormorant (both were pink and white)

Postby HPL1 » Tue Jan 08, 2008 11:58 pm

A friend of mine from GA asked me the other day about a cormorant he found dead that had 2 pink bands on its legs. He was wandering if I knew anything about it. I told him I didn't but that someone on here might. So if anyone knows how to check on these bands or has heard of it let me know.

He was banded in Ontario Canada in the north channel of Lake Huron. They started using pink bands last year so it was probably banded once last year and once this year.

Champ you laugh at a comerant falling out of the sky, I was hunting in Indianola and saw just that,

There were three flying over the other end of the field and one just collaspsed out of the sky. fell about 200 ft and made on hell of a splash....

Never seen anything like it but there was four of us there, craziest thing I have ever seen.

It actually ate some bait on a line and swallowed the hook. Found it hanging in a tree dead.

Is there a website or phone no. to call, we have tried the regular stuff.

I heard a similar story one time at the Pharmacy in Oxford on University..."Sir....(speaking to the Pharmacist) Ummm...A friend of mine...well...he... was wondering if this RID would actually get rid of the crabs...also....he asked me to ask you if in addition to using the shampoo...does he need to shave.....?"
