dang Crow... that was so deep, it made my head hurt... but after reading it for the 8th time, i have to agree with you...
Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, count to ten, take a deep breath and remind yourself that you wouldn't look good in prison stripes... and just smile at that dumbass and walk away.

I heard on the radio yesterday that the new Bass Pro Shop will open in Pearl at the I-55/I-20 interchange.

The problem with the workforce, young and semi-young, is you have a generation and a half of kids that were given everything and never had to work for it.

My graduating class, for instance: We had kids that got brand new 5.0 GT's for their reward for passing their driver's license test at 15, you had kids that got a vehicle, but it was usually a second or third-hand vehicle, and then there were the kids that didn't get a car unless they bought one.

You had the kids that didn't work, went to the coast every spring break, charged their rifle ammo and hunting equipment to "daddy's farm" and got free gas to ride around on every weekend. They were the ones who could wreck a truck and have a new one in a month's time, or who got a new car at 15 and another new car at graduation. And they were the ones who could cuss the teacher, and cry to mama, who then came to school and cussed the teacher again.

Then there were the ones who worked every spring break for spending money, and they were working every friday and Saturday night when the other ones were out riding. These were the ones who got to hunt if they had a weekend off, and had to buy their own gear, except for a new gun at Christmas if they were lucky. They could race and spin tires if they wanted to, but they had to buy their own set of tires when those were worn out and as my dad put it, "Son, you can do whatever you want to when you go out tonight, but don't call me if they take you to the police station." They were the ones who might cuss the teacher, then got their tails tanned at school, cried to mama and got it tanned twice when they got home.

I started mowing yards at age 13, did that until I was old enough to drive and got a "really good job" at the grocery store sacking groceries. Then, I moved up to working for my grandfather, and got a cussing every time I sat down while I was on the clock. We used to pick up cigarette butts and nuts and washers in the gravel parking lot of the shopyard, when things got slow.

Then you have the ones who got their "first job" at age 23, fresh out of college...or either at age 26, fresh out of college cause they majored in partying instead of schooling. The real world hits you hard at 22 when you have never had to work. And these that think they have it bad cause daddy won't buy them the latest Mustang, probably some of the same ones you see in the retail shops, are gonna have it hard as well.

If a man is running a store, he needs to make sure his employees are serving his customers. If they aren't, he is losing money by keeping them hired.

What was this thread about anyway? Bass Pro Shops? ;)

Amen there Wingman! I think it was Limbaugh who said 5% of the work force in America carries the other 95%. You just have the main reason why.
