Postby qckmstr » Tue Jan 01, 2008 10:28 pm

i was i walmart tonight and there was a guy in front of me to checkout tring to buy some bullets for his rifle.. the cashier ask him what caliber gun and he told him it was a remington model 700. the cashier man said " ok.. but what caliber is it?" the man turned around and ask me if i knew what caliber a remington model 700 was... i was stunned....speachless.. so moral of the story... be careful if you go deer hunting cause there's fixing to be an accident real soon.

Did he go ahead and buy the bullets? I hope not. Did ya'll explain to him what he was doing? I think if I were the Wal Mart employee I'd have encouraged him to take the safety course if offered at a Wal Mart close to him. I know the ones in Tupelo had it or at least used to.

Should have asked him where he was hunting so we could all stay clear.

Just as surprised that the walmart sporting goods "expert" knew to ask the question.

I think they only make the remington 700 in the .270 super-short-remington ultra mag carbine H&H. I could be wrong though.

It ok to sound like an idiot when you admit that you don't know anything when you are buying for someone else, but if you are buying bullets for your own gun and don't know what caliber it is "shoulda had a V8!"
