Hwy7 to Greenwood, 82 to Moorehead, 3 to 49W, 49W toBelzoni, Hwy 12 to Hwy 61, go south to you get there. Shouldn't take 4 hours unless you drive the speed limit :D

Ditto...Or go to 61 and hang a left...should be less than 2 hours either way, unless Wingman's ridin' your bumper

Same here except if you know the short cut from Moorhead to 49 which may be included in the directions above as stated by the bold. Been years since I've traveled that road so Hwy. names are not my strong point. There is also a cut over from 49 at Isola I believe that will take you to new Hwy 61 near Arcola as well.
If it doesn't work out there will never be any doubt that the pleasure was worth all the pain.

I agree about taking 7 from Grenada to Greenwood, then 82 to Itta Bena. Instead of taking 3 at Moorhead, I'd take 7 at Itta Bena to Belzoni, then 12 across to Hollandale, then 61 south.

He doesn't want to cut across to Arcola from Inverness. Curvy roads and road hunters will slow him down.

Shortest route is not always the quickest route......been thru that route prolly ten thousand times.....quickest (not shortest) is G'nada to G'wood (30 mins.) G'wood to Leland (4 lane, so skin it back- 50 mins.) Leland to R.F. (40 mins.) Total time: 2 hours max.
Any of the other ways are just scenic routes!!!

Just a side note, the MHP is serious about giving out some citations during the holidays. Met Mr. Congeniality thursday night on a little state hwy in east MS. 71 in a 55.

I had it coming, in fact I'm usually doing 81 on that stretch 8) BUT, what kind of "psycho" training do they put these guys thru at the academy. I'm a student of human behavior...they all are schooled at the same place/same mental state. I guess they can't put people out there without a little "jackass 101" training to help deal with the riff raff public :P
