First Band (Pics Added)

Postby jdbuckshot » Tue Dec 18, 2007 10:16 pm

Got my first band today, been duck hunting for 10 years, i have not shot tons of ducks every year, but ive killed my fair share, id like to say i was overdue, but when i look back on it all, it seemed to be right on time. I went nuts when i saw that jewel on the leg. After 2 man mallard limits on saturday, sunday, and today, i guess the #'s finally work in your favor!

Hen Mallard

banded 9/17/07

Minnesota,

Looked to be a hatch year bird,

the blind i shot it out of has been hunted by the same group since 98, and have killed 500+ ducks some years, and this was only the 2nd band ever taken off a duck there.

Here is the hole we busted in the ice, its was still fairly thickabout 3/4" to 1"

here is the first duck i shot! been waiting 10 years on this!

here is some more of the Damage, got a Red Head and a Gaddy too!

it sure is nice, when the owner of the company you work for calls and ask if your up for a duck hunt before going into the Office!

LIFE IS GOOD!

BANDS

Postby jdbuckshot » Wed Dec 19, 2007 8:48 am

I have banded checked dang near every bird i have ever shot. a group came in and we both got 2 birds. partner shot 2 drakes, i got a drake and a hen. dog picks hen up and brings in to blind and my partner set it down and went after the other birds. next thing we know he have ducks working us so we get back in and work the ducks with no shot. then i ask him where is that 4th ducks. "i set it down somewhere in the blind" and i looked in the chair and grabbed the ducks and let out a big ole yell, and practically jumped into my partners arms. About every 10 minutes all day yesterday i would say to myself, i cant believe i finally got one!

its hard to believes something so small and worthless is so precious to a man!

Now, I've called my computer that, a time, or two..........'sumbit'!.....but I've never sumbitted anything, I don't guess. :?

Congratulations, Jim! You did the right thing marrying into the company and moving to Missouri. That's getting your priorities straight. 8)
