9. Modernize the Process of Legal Immigration

Eliminate the visa lottery system and the admission category for adult brothers and sisters of U.S. citizens.

Increase visas for highly-skilled and highly-educated applicants.

Expedite processing for those who serve honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Improve our immigration process so that those patiently and responsibly seeking to come here legally will not have to wait decades to share in the American dream. Governor Huckabee has always been grateful to live in a country that people are trying to break into, rather than break out of.



3. Prevent Amnesty



Policies that promote or tolerate amnesty will be rejected.

Propose to provide all illegal immigrants a 120-day window to register with the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services and leave the country. Those who register and return to their home country will face no penalty if they later apply to immigrate or visit; those who do not return home will be, when caught, barred from future reentry for a period of 10 years.


How about just get out..... My Gawd can you imagine just 7 million people showing up to register .... That would overwhelm the system.... O Yea we need to increase taxes to pay for this...

I for one will say this if someone from another country stands the ground for this country I am all in favor in Expediting their path to citizenship.

Great, and this Terrorist was trained by the United States of America.... The last thing we need is a whole division of immigrants looking for a Green Card...... Sorry....

Sounds "OK" to me... There is no easy solution to this process. Other than to enforce the current laws.. But that may make too much sense. :?

Enforce the Laws... Yea, Why would we do that....

IMO, I think that it is completely acceptable that any immigrant that is willing to put his or her self in harms way for our country's freedom and sovereignty and to protect the freedom of opinions (like mine & yours), is totally deserving of being pushed to the top of the citizenship ladder. To think otherwise is, IMO again, totally loony. I'm not going to argue with you because it seems you are so far to the Right that there is no changing your mind. I read every one of the immigration topics that he put forth as his plan. I agree with every one of them....with the exception of the date for having the fence completed. I think that can happen sooner. Based on the legislation that was passed by Congress they should already be building the fence, but the liberals are holding them up.

My previous post was in reference to your comment about calling our soldiers "terrorist trained by the US". That is completely asinine.

If a person's only reason to Join the Armed Forces it to Get a Green card then what have you done to the Armed Forces??

Who would have thought that we trained the Terrorists to fly into the World Trade Centers???

How about enforce the laws on the books....
