Now that I've stood up for our fair state, can I come home and hunt some? I feel kinda like I need to ask permission.

Dang OOS'er

I got no problem with OOS'er, unless they come shoot our ducks/deer/turkey, or what ever and then run off and criticize our state. Many a good friendship I have made with folks who come hunt the land I am lucky enough to hunt. Wish I could see those guys more. Most hunters I have met are good folks and I am proud to be associated with them. I am proud to call them my friends. HOWEVER, there are a bunch of ISer's (that is instaters for you slow ones) that show less respect for the great resources of this state and break more laws than any ooser's had dare dream off. Guys we got enough of our own white trash we need to cull out.
There will be a day....

Sorry Gator, I didn't know if OOS's are even allowed to hunt certain WMA's. That shows how much I know about them. Either way, I see yalls point about over crowded public land...

I am with you Torch, on the knuckleheads running up the lease price. I've been calculating a "price per duck " for years..... That is how I would lease. The bad part is $25/ duck ain't too much!! I hate it but its the truth and that is putting it cheap. Seen $100/ duck, duck holes too! That is S-tupid.

OOS's, at least fall in with a local that will half shoot you straight, even if you have to pay him, to get the most bang for your buck. Let him tell you whats what, and then listen to him!

Every rice field in the Delta is NOT worth $5000 nor even $1000.

I agree that out of stat hunters should not be able to hunt anykind of state ran public land. I can see where some of you get the idea of that out of state hunters drive up lease prices. This is even true around natchez where people from south la have come in and driven up the lease prices. But as far as the rest of the state mainly the delta vicksburg and up and along the big black the lease prices have gone up because of the wealthier people from the madison area. It is not helped by the fact that every big deer that is killed in madison county is seen state wide. It really is getting bad when people have to keep their trohy deer secrets and not even share them with friends. I know of possible state records killed in the last couple of years that no one will ever know about because people are scared to lose their land. But if you must blame someone for all of this first look at the people within the state. I even know of plenty of deer hunter that curse duck hunters for driving up lease prices.
