When have ya'll found dogs have there 1st heat, around 10 months or so????

I have seen it early as 8 months and as late as 14 months.

It varies from dog to dog. I had one have her first cylce at 7months but she didnt have a full cycle. She didnt go into full blown heat til about 12-13 months.

Thanks just trying to get an idea so I won't be caught off guard. This is my first female lab and she is shaping up to be a good one.

My girl is 17 months old and has still not been in heat. But she has been trained hard and sometimes that affects the heat cycle. So, you never know about the first one.
