SPAM BOT - Micha or the Powers that BE

Most of new members appear to be spam bots; or a bot of some type. The latest one that has registered is a cigarette bot for dunhill I think. Is their a chance one of these automated bots could unleash a deadly virus or lock up the board? I'v seen jumbled letters that you have to decipher in order to join other boards. Do we need something like that here?
