I think Natalie made an apology:

As a concerned American citizen, I apologize to President Bush because my remark was disrespectful. I now realize that whoever holds that office should be treated with the utmost respect.

I hope everyone understands, I'm just a young girl who grew up in Texas. As far back as I can remember, I heard people say they were ashamed of President Clinton. I saw bumper stickers calling him everything from a pothead to a murderer. I heard people on the radio and TV like Rush Limbaugh, Pat Robertson, Newt Gingrich and Trent Lott bad mouthing the President and ridiculing his wife and daughter at every opportunity.

I heard LOTS of people disrespecting the President. So I guess I just assumed it was acceptable behavior.

But now, thanks to the thousands of angry people who want radio stations to boycott our music because criticizing the President is unpatriotic, I realize it's wrong to have a liberal opinion if you're a country music artist. I guess I should have thought about that before deciding to play music that attracts hypocritical red necks.

I also realize now that I'm supposed to just sing and look cute so our fans won't have anything to upset them while they're cheating on their wives or getting in drunken bar fights or driving around in their pickup trucks shooting highway signs and small animals.

And most important of all, I realize that it's wrong for a celebrity to voice a political opinion, unless they're Charlie Daniels, Clint Black, Merle Haggard, Barbara Mandrell, Loretta Lynn, Ricky Skaggs, Travis Tritt, Hank Williams Jr, Amy Grant, Larry Gatlin, Crystal Gayle, Reba McEntire, Lee Greenwood, Lorrie Morgan, Anita Bryant, Mike Oldfield, Ted Nugent, Wayne Newton, Dick Clark, Jay Leno, Drew Carey, Dixie Carter, Victoria Jackson, Charleton Heston, Fred Thompson, Ben Stein, Bruce Willis, Kevin Costner, Arnold Schwartzenegger, Bo Derek, Rick Schroeder, George Will, Pat Buchanan, Bill O'Reilly, Joe Rogan, Delta Burke or Robert Conrad.

God Bless America,
Natalie

I got a feeling that apology is a hoax. Might be what she was thinking, but I doubt seriously she said it. Either way, I think it's funnier than $#!+.

Everyone has opinions. I think most of the time the famous types ought to be the last mofo's anyone should listen too. They are so far removed from real day to day life for the average person, their life doesn't vaguely resemble mine, why should their opinions or ideals?

That apology is right on target with one thing... why was it ok to hammer some presidents and not this one? Can't tell ya how many arkansas and bill clinton jokes I've heard over the years...Reagan jokes about he doesn't remember... Carter jokes about his entire family? Bush sr... Saturday night live been making fun of presidents for 25 years, and nobody ever boycotted them. Am I missing something you guys can clue me in to? Why is this president suddenly above reproach?

Wonder what this duck hunting board would have thought if she had clarified her statements about george w by his reclassifying the federal defintion of wetlands, which meant 30-40% of the nations prevoiusly protected wetlands are no longer protected? Any wetland under 1 acre is no longer a wetland, which just happens to be the most productive type for breeding ducks. Would it had been ok if that had been the reason? What about his plans to put americans national park lands in the hands of local groups? Like sheepfarmers, and timber compaines, and mine compaines. Sure, they'll save 'some' of it. Would that have been ok?

I will agree that making a statement like she made where she made it is not right. Poor choice of venue, poor choice of timing, well after the time its going to do any good. But it ain't the biggest thing in the world.

You know what REALLY pisses me off about celbs moaning and groaning in public? She could have put a call into george w and got through to him. I can't. She could tell him personally what she thinks. I can't. I might not agree with his war, and I certainly don't agree with his environmental onslaught, but I sure as hell wouldn't stand in front of a bunch of british "@#$%#" and say anything but God bless the USA. I might talk about my wife, but you can't kinda thing, if nothing else. She could have called him, and maybe made a difference. This didn't. travis

Goosebruce, you're right man, think about it, who in the hell would listen to the Ditsy Chicks?????.....

As a matter of fact, who in the hell would listen to ANY actors when it came to war??????

Count me out.......

The Ditsy Chick is the prime example of if you have money, then you think you can say any damn thing and get away with it......

But guess what?... I hear John Deere's firing up all over the great country to trample and stomp the garbage you put out Ditsy's!!!!

No one ever said having talent meant you actually have a brain, as well!. How many singers have wound up killing themselves with drugs and alcohol? That ain't smart!

Who the Hell cares what an actor says? They make a living pretending to be someone else! That just doesn't fit my description of a person in whom I place value on their opinion and comments. I'll take the word of a farmer who feeds us, or a carpenter who builds things, or a mechanic who fixes things, or a teacher who prepares the future, or a soldier who defends us! An actor or musician...give me a break! They entertain us, just like the jesters and fools who are their ancestral link from the past!

Sometime, let me tell you how I really feel about professional athletes and entertainers who mistakenly believe their fat wallet should impress me enough to think they have a brain. Not this curly headed country boy!

GB, that was cruel saying that about Reagan. Cruel in a funny way. George Clooney blasted Charleton Heston with an alzheimers comment, but Clooney wasn't tryng to be funny. You better backtrack a little. You are starting to sound like you are from hollywood. 8)
