any of you guys own one??? do you have any trouble with it back firing when you cut it off???what exactly is the cause of this??

It is a carb issue. Not necessarily a problem. Mine will backfire after I tote a load through a flooded field or real deep mud. When I really load it down. It is caused by an excessive amount of fuel dumped in the carb and therefore the exhaust system or a fuel/air mixture problem.

I don't worry about it.

I kinda figured thats what it was...just didnt know for sure...long as its not nething major i guess i can live with it...sux when it makes deer run like it done yesterday!!!!! Thanx.

It will be a problem when it blows a gasket......Backfire if not good.....take it from me it can and will eventually blow a gasket on the motor

I had it happen and it did blow a gasket. Had to haul it to Jackson to figure it out. Had to haul it again to get the carb rebuilt. I will run every duck out of the area when it happens.

What sucks is when you get a ticket for shooting after hours when it happens.

Try turning your idle down just a bit. I know that works in older cars. To high an idle can cause that. Can't hurt to try?

mines not like a loud backfire...just a deep low..."BLOOMP"...sound most of the time.like it is farting or somthing lol...sometimes it does it louder...I would get a honda but I havent seen one prove to me that it is any better....CAN YOU???

I've got a 99 grizzly 600 that does that sometimes too! I never really thought much about it though but it definitely does it.
