870- I have used mine as a paddle, ice breaker, depth checker, etc...
Every nova I have ever seen sucked and sounded like a rattle trap.

You can't go wrong with the 870 or the Nova, both are good inexpensive pumps.

I have a several 870 and you can't beat'em for a pump. I sold my BPS and picked up the 3.5 870. Nova sounds like they forgot to tighten something up when you are handling it. IMHO the only reason they sale it cause it says Benelli on it. There is nothing wrong with the BPS. Wouldn't mind picking up a camo one.

Do yourself a favor and take Nova off the list. Either or the other two are good guns. You will get tired of the rinky dink Nova rattling everywhere you go.

I broke the forearm on my 870 a couple of years ago so I bought a Nova that afternoon so I could hunt the rest of the weekend. I found out I shot the Nova alot better than I shot the 870 so the 870 still hasn't been fixed. Neither my 870 or Nova have jammed on me "when I needed it". I think I will order another forearm assembly for it soon to keep as a backup gun or a loaner gun.

I would recommend borrowing all three and making the decision for yourself. Ultimately it is up to you, some shoot 870's better, some shoot the Nova better. Some prefer a bottom ejection of the shell while some prefer the side ejection. It will be your decision in the end since you will be the one shooting it not us, don't just buy a gun because everyone else says to! All three are good guns that will get the job done.

Mine does rattle but its nothing that really bothers me too much. I don't notice it to tell you the truth unless i'm really bored.
