Black Ducks

I cruising between farms yesterday and went through a bottom the choquatonchee river runs thru. Water had gotten out on a soybean field and the ducks were all over it. I just parked the truck and pulled out the binoculars and watched. Saw mallards, pintail, teal, gadwall, wigeon and 2 blacks.

I didn't even have to put the nocs up to see them. They were sitting in the middle of a wad of pintail and they were sticking out like a sore thumb. They are some pretty ducks. Good news is that they were a paired drake and hen. Maybe she won't get crossed with a greenhead since he is around.

The sight and sounds of feeding ducks is always fun to watch.

GW2... you must be one of them racist or segregationalist peoples i read about .... not wanting dem dark ducks to mix with anyone else... you know it is supposed to be everybody got a shot at everybody else, no matter what color their head be. green. red. at least that's what them liberal peoples on TV been tellin us around our parts

MSB I ain't prejudiced to no duck. I'll kill almost anyone that flies by me. Well...hollywoods, depends if I'm really bored. Hate to shoot it if I ain't gonna eat it. Now...where is my hood....oops.

I shot a Black/Mallard cross this year here in Tennessee, and it is a wallhanger!!!
