And you never call out another handler especially one as accomplished as Barry Lyons.

Initial Line

Postby cdwyer » Thu Sep 27, 2007 3:58 pm

HGH if your dog gave you good initial lines, why would your first cast need to be an over? An over changes a dogs direction either left or right not forward. If you have a good initial line an angle back should be all that is required to fine tune the dog's progress to the stick.

I obviously ran in the other flight... but there where dogs failed for their land blinds in our flight as well. I know, cause i sat in on the judges confrenece when handlers asked (sfhrc has hunt committee members sit in on judges confrences, not as a judge or jury, but to prevent someone from being 'unprofessional'. Its happened before, and no not by anyone on this board). Scalloping back to the corn mutiple times wasn't judged as finished work, that day, by 2 different sets of judges.

I agree about calling folks out on the net. If you don't agree, then don't agree. Even say you don't agree. But calling about someones charather or how they do or don't judge, is low class. And naming another handler and a problem he had is low class. Discuss all you want, but its pretty low to single anyone out not involved in the conversation. travis

btw... that corn blind has a kewl name. A no see um blind. And if your dog wasnt schooled in no see ums, he bailed into the corn he had just found 3 ducks in on a hunt em up. Its a concept, and as everyone can tell from the difficulty a lot of dogs had, its one that should be trained on.

I would have changed the water blind too. In a hartbeat. test are changed lots of time, for lots of reasons. Its part of running to a standard. Always been that way, always will be. travis

My sentiments exactly. You ever seen a coach lay the blame on how bad his team sux like he has nothing to do with it. It probablly a vendetta against you and your dog really past.
This place has become mote biatching than talking about the real reason this board is here. I make a motion to create a sour grapes forum and quit taking up space on this board.

I enjoyed the set-ups and thought they were a blast to run! especially having the poison bird and dry fire added in there to make thing more exciting!, didn't necessarily care for one set of the judges but i'm not here to bash anyone, and i'm not a judge so i wont judge one. Goosebruce, JW which blind you would have changed and for what reason?

Sun am waterblind. Like I said in another post, I ran my seasoned dog on it for set up dog. The dog has been running water blinds for appox 10 days, and only 3 days of that actually running water blinds, it was maybe her 15th water blind in her life. And 3 whistled it and that was all trying to get off the island. After she ran it as set up, and rowdy ran it for 1st dog, the green grass on other side was wallowed out with a hole, and every dog after that with a good inital line should have lined it (both of my other dogs did). travis
