Need tire info... Best type...
Anybody got any good advice on some tires? I got a 01 Silverado and need some 255/70/16 for it. It is not 4 wheel drive and I mainly stay on the road. The higher the mileage the better cause I run about 30k a year. Anybody got any input on tires or where is the best place to get them? Any tires I should watch out for?

I should say that I still had tread on them when I bought the new set, I just had the $$$ and wanted to get some before I didn't have the $$$ and HAD to have some. I, quite honestly could have gotten 100,000 out of them. They ride good, are quiet, and wear GREAT...I would almost guarantee you'd be satisfied.
It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Thanks for all the info... I hope to go get some new ones today. I think I am going to have to lean toward the Toyo AT right now... They just look really good. Might change my mind to the BF goodrich once I see them but this gives me a great start. I just didn't want to put a set of tires on the truck that were not going to last long. They too expensive to only last 30k. Looks like either one of these is a good tire.

Holy CrapI didn't get but 50 out of mine, what the heck did I do wrong?
Its good to rotate your tires every 5K, will help them last much longer.
They got rotated every other oil change, every 6k miles.

i have atleast 80k on mine now.. they were on the truck when i bought it.. the truck came with these as stockers.. my truck i bet has never seen much more than a mud puddle on a gravel road.. i boutght it used last christmas with 145k on it.. now its got 160 k on it.. its a F150 SuperCrew 4X4... i HAD to buy two new ones cause i fell off in a wash and tore the side walls on the rear.. they had at least 30% left on them.. ride good but can hydroplane on ya if not careful..

Yeah the key is to rotate them, I didnt so thats why I am having to get another set when mine only have 50,000 on them. My buddy owns a tire shop in Louisville and he says to rotate them every 5-6,000 miles. Since I change my oil at 4-5 thousand then I will start rotating every oil change.
