I went to the res. yesterday to look for some teal and saw somthing that I have never seen. We were watching a pelican fly just above the water when a bald eagle came down and tried to catch it. Then it flew off.No teal where seen.

For those of you not in the know already. Yes we have eagles out here at the rez. Last year on the opening day of goose season in Sept. we had one land on the same island we were hunting. Beautiful birds. Makes goose bumps on your arms to actually see one in the wild.

according to the G&F there is a pair of the Eagles that has made the Rez their home... take care of them and let them get a duck or two that you have down... then give them a SALUTE and let them fly...

Cool aren't they?! First one I ever saw was between Belzoni and Tchula. I was flying around with a buddy, when I noticed what I thought was a marsh hawk off our right wing as we passed it. I got him to turn us around and sure enough it was a Bald Eagle.. we made a few wide circles around it and then left it alone. I was amazed that I had seen one around here, but I've heard sometimes they migrate through this area, although around Onward and Eagle Lake there are several nesting pairs. I've been told that the nests are enormous.
