One Big Lizard.

Postby Faithful Retrievers » Mon Sep 17, 2007 9:51 pm

This was the gator on channel 3 earlier. After going on my first gator hunt I really understand what a feat it was getting this sucker. I believe the guy was from Florence. I saw them icing him down later that night in the truck and I bet it wasn't any fun cleaning. It is a bad photo that doesn't do this gator justice. There is video link on wlbt.com.

What do gators eat? That sucker could eat a medium size human in a bite or two. You won't catch me swimming in the Res anytime soon. As I recall it was 12 1/2 feet and weighed 525 lbs.

He was 12'3" and weighed 484 pounds. It took 6 of us to load him in the boat after we tied him to the side of the boat and went to a sandbar.

Florida or Coon booty gator this size would have been between 600 to 900 pounds guessing.

the state record length is 13 ft, 3/4 inch, but the state record weight on a gator is the 13 footer from last year that weighed 571 lbs. these gators should have weighed around between 750 and 1,000 lbs, so they are still underweight
