In the market for a new 4 wheeler
Been looking on the internet and looking for something around a 350-400 4x4 and truthfully they all look pretty nice to me, I had the old Honda 300 4x4 so I'm thinking about trying something different but really it all comes down to who is offering the most bang for my buck, what do ya'll think?

long story short the drain plug for the oil striped out and put an oversize plug in, after a while that plug started leaking oil too and took to a guy to look at and around the hole there were 2 small cracks in the aluminum, he said the only way to fix it would be to put a new engine on it, its a '92 model and we got 15 yrs out of it, just ready for something new.

I have an 02' Forman ES with TRAXLOCK and I have had no problem with it. I love it, the only thing is it is a little hard to steer with the 27" tires on it but it has plenty of power for me. It will pull a 1452 war eagle in and out and haul three fat boys and that is about all that I can ask from it. If you are going to buy a new on check out the guys at lake hill motors in Corinth, MS. Yeah its a long ways but they saved me about a $1k when I purchased mine, and they had all of my accessories I wanted in stock and on my bike when I got there to pick it up.
Oh I think the New Ranchers are 420cc so it is about the same bike as the old Foreman, and the new foremans are 500cc. Not 100% sure on all that though but I am sure some one can clear that up.

I went thru this same process 2 years ago.. I wanted either a Manual Transmission or a true Shaft Drive Auto (Which Honda is the only one) When I started looking at bang for the buck, I settled on an Artic Cat 400 4x4 Manual.. It has:
heavy duty racks and floor boards
stick stoppers
12" ground clearance
Built in 2" reciever hitch
Hi/Lo Tranny
Locking Front Differential (true 4 wheel drive)
Indepentant Front and Rear Suspension (rides like a caddy)
Adjustable Shocks
Disk Brakes (which is a huge plus)
2 year warrenty
Digital Instrument Pannel
and the Speed Rack system that lets you add all kinds of Rack attachments.. I have a couple of these and they are really nice.. Out the door price was $5,400.
No other bike had all of these features.. I was a little concerned going with an Arctic Cat, but checked with an ATV mechanic and he said as long as you get the AC with the Suzuki engine you are good. Which the 400 and 500 have.. He also said Honda used to be a really good bike, but is about on par with everyone else now..
I absolutly love my bike.. It will walk thru just about mud hole there is.. Check them out.. They have them at Bass Pro Shops..
