I currently have a 96 GMC Z71 with 290,000 original motor and 1 trans. I think its time to pass it on to someone that does not have as far to travel. I want to find one that has been as dependable and not to hard on the pocket book. What would you consider high miles on a diesel 200k?
I hate to get another truck, as good as this truck has been, but I just don't feel comfortable making a 900 mile round trip as I do pretty often.

I have a 99 Tahoe with the 350 with about 194k on it, and my Dad has a 94 C1500 with the 4.3 with over 300k on it. Both are on the original engine and doing fine. Transmission has been rebuilt in both. We've had several Chevys with over 150k, and the first problem you typically run into is the transmission, usually around that mark.
I don't think you get to highmileage until after about 150K.. Chevy is just getting broken in about 100,000

232,000 miles on it - Runs 75-80 mph everywhere I go, still going STRONG. Had to get a new bearings in the rearend ($715) at 160,000 miles cause I pulled big tractors too many times with it. My next one will be a Chevy 2500 HD.
Other than the rearend, I have bought 1 set of new front rotors, a water pump, fuel pump, a set of new shocks, and radiator side tanks (they are plastic and busted from hard bumps and heat). That is it.
